Umpire Instructional Materials

I am wanting to compile a collection of instructional umpiring materials to start a "library" for our local high school association. I am wanting books, DVDs, videos, CDs, cassettes, etc. that would be beneficial to our membership. Does anyone have any suggestions of quality material that would be a good addition to this collection? What are some of the best materials that you've read or watched that are well worth the investment? Links to the material would be helpful, too. Thanks!

Honigs has a page with various rule books and an instructional CD.

You also need the Jaksa/Roder manual.

The Evans Balk Video is a classic.

Carl Childress's Basic Rules Differences is a great addition.

That's a start. ;)

Jim Evans Diamond Challenge Video is a great review for veteran umpires and a excellent tool for beginning umpires.

Has anyone viewed the DVDs available through NFHS?

Still looking for materials to present to our association at our upcoming business meeting. Any more suggestions? Any reviews of the materials already suggested? I'm looking to get the most out of our association dollars.

For FED ball, make sure everybody receives and reads the new rule book and completes the test on their own.

I would also recommend getting the newest CCA manual (college baseball) and Evans' Maximizing the Two-Umpire System. Both are required in my opinion. The CCA is nice if you have guys that want to get into college ball as this book covers the mechanics used there. It covers 2, 3, 4, and 6 man mechanics. Evans' book is an indepth mechanics book that covers pretty much everything. This book is a great tool for understanding, not only the hows, but the whys in mechanics.
