New NFHS Rules that MTD, Jr., and I learned today.

MTD, Jr., is playing in two different 18 & over baseball leagues this summer. Today he had games in both leagues, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

The BU umpire in the evening game did not show up, but the PU did, and he was a real keeper. He wore from his feet up: black and white running shoes; catcher's shin guards under black with white piping down the legs warm-up pants; a navy blue umpire's shirt with a chest protector under it; a white ball bag hanging from a black belt around his waist; a black umpire's face mask; and the piece de resistance: instead of a navy blue umpire's hat, he wore a blue bandana over his bald head.

Now for the two new NFHS Rules:

1) A RHP must disegage from the pitching plate to attempt to pick off a runner on third base and a LHP must disegage from the pitching plate to attempt to pick off a runner on first base, :p.

2) A batter is always out on an uncaught third strike when there are two outs and first base is occupied because it just like the IFF rule,.

Never mind the rest--a white ball bag? Where did that come from? Even OC doesn't have one, AFAIK.

The coaches should have mentored him.

The coaches should have told him that Ringling Brothers called and asked what time their clown was coming back.

In #1. The offensive coach should have lied and told him he was absolutely correct.

In #2: The defensive coach should have lied told him he was absolutely correct.

Then they should have walked away smiling.

The only person more stupid is anyone that actually paid for this guy to officiate. He couldn't volunteer at my LL park, much less get paid by my association.

Why would anyone accept this knucklehead as an umpire for your game?

p.s. do you not have a camera on your cell phone? If so, where's the picture?
COME ON NOW!

Dang, I never thought of taking a picture with my cell phone. When it comes to camera phones I am somewhat technology challenged.

If it's like mine, it's not easy.

First, you have to pull the phone out of your pocket. Then you have to flip it open. (Here's where I always get bogged down.) You have to find the button with the tiny camera engraved on it and push it.

The Umpire struck again today. I took pictures and Andy and Mark, Jr., are going to help me tomorrow get the pictures from my cell phone to my hard drive and then on Officiating.com. And Ozzy you will really puke.

Our computer caught a virus Sunday and is in the shop getting fixed as we speak. I hope to have the picture posted by Sunday if not sooner.
