Knocking the Ball out of Play
 
FED. R1 is running on the pitch. B1 hits a line drive over F3's head and into the corner. As F9 goes to pick up the ball, R1 in around third and B1 is around second. F9 bends down and knocks the ball under a gate sending it out of play. Where do the runners go?

As described, both runners would be awarded home.

Would the ball, if it had been heading in the correct direction, gone uder the gate without F9 kicking it? IF so, then it's two bases TOP.

If F9 added momentum to the ball, then it's two bses from the time of touch.
