I'm sure this has been brought up before but I was wondering what, if anything, one should do when a runner on 2B holds up his hand (to display a number) to tell the batter what type of pitch the pitcher is about to throw.

As an umpire, do nothing.

As a batter, prepare to duck.

As a catcher, change the signs.
