Orioloes/BoSox game last night (Monday)

Looked like on SportsCenter last night Skipper Dave Trembly, got dumped by Alfonso Marquez for one of his hitters drawing a line at the plate. I didn't hear the commentary...just saw parts of what led up to it...

Who saw this? And why did he dump him?

It was the bottom of the 3rd and Adam Jones took a knuckleball for a called strike. Trembley, still in the dugout, was yelling at Marquez and was ejected. Trembley came out of the dugout after the ejection and it was Trembly who drew the lines on the edge of the batter's box. I'm not a lipreader but it looked like Trembley said to Marquez "...he doesn't need any help..." (probably referring to Tim Wakefield and his knuckleball).

NESN had the microphones on near home plate. First you hear Marquez holler, "Knock it off!" then he says "That's enough!". All this while he is standing in his plate position with his mask on. Suddenly, he ripped off the mask and dumped Trembley. When Trembley came to the plate, he said "He doesn't need no help!" Referring to Wakefield. He proceeded to draw a line on the inside line of the LH batters box saying "This is not a strike!" and proceeded to the RH batter's box to do the same thing saying "And this is not a strike!". Then the microphones cut off (I wonder why?).

A year or two ago FOX put mics on a few umpires early in the season, but that didn't seem to work. I remember one game in particular where a coach came out and in just a few seconds you see the umpire turning off the mic. Then later there was a discussion with the umpiring crew and they tuned into his mic just in time to hear it be turned off.
