suspended game??
Fed rules
Bottom of the 3rd, home team winning 2-0 when rain stops the game. rain continues and the field is unplayable. Is this game washed out completely since it is not an official game or is it suspended and picked up where the game was stopped?? this was actually a "play-in" game. 2 teams were tied for the last play-off spot. the winner would get into the play-offs. the loser was done. i'd see it as an extension of the regular season, but i'm not sure about Fed or PIAA. Secondly, is there any difference if the game in question is a play-off game or a regular season game? Lastly, this is a PIAA (state of PA) game. do they rule any different rules than Fed? thanks, |
Hint: check with PIAA

I believe it's dependant on the state to adopt game ending procedures.

Whole bunch of answers
1. Fed regular season-- wash out and replay
2. in OH and WV, regular season wash out unless you have individual league rules that make this a suspended game. 3. In OH and WV, and PIAA if my memory does not leave me, it is a suspended game in all tournament games. |
I worked a game this year that started in bottom of 2nd with 1 out, no one on.
I worked one last year that started with a 1-1 count on the first batter of the game. Individual state rules.. |
