NCAA's Yeast Resigns

Sigh... Just when things are going great for a group of guys, their leader resigns. The king is dead - long live the king! Don't know who will apply for the job, but he'll be hard pressed to match what Dave has done over the years he's held the reins.
He plans to go back to umpiring, with another trip to the CWS as his goal. At least he's got a great goal - and a LOT of umpiring friends.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but fools should think before they speak. This will keep others from seeing just how big a fool one is!!!!!

I don't see how Dave's choosing to work MiLB games during the AMLU strike can in any way cast a shadow on what he's done for NCAA baseball officials.

I know lots of MEN who will now continue umpiring in the NCAA because that man is gone.. I can't respect this man who stomped all over fellow umpires back especially when all these men were doing was trying to improve there lives.

I wonder how it is to walk of the field with that man.... you have to have the thought in your mind.... well I know this guy doesn't have my back....

You can't trust a scab not now or ever those who he hurt will never forget I know I won't

oyaisee Thu Feb 14, 2008 11:18pm

That's the problem when you choose...... and I mean CHOOSE to scab everything good you do is covered up buy the fact that you don't care.... I'm sure Hitler did some good things too but I just can't get over the fact that he tried to wipe out an entire race of people....

Have a nice life Dave and Thanks for playing.....

A SCAB is a scab 1st and everything else (good or bad)2nd....

Tim.

Not to mention his scabbing Apr-May 1995 in MLB.

Once a scab, always a scab.:(

Scabism aside,

Did he elevate the working conditions of NCAA umpires?

He was fired because he wants to work games again.

He resigned. He was not fired.

That's my point.... No scab will ever be mentioned for anything good without being everyone mentioning ya but he's a scab...

Scabbing leaves a scar for life...

He could invent the cure for AIDS and still people would say, "Wow that great, but he was a scab."

I hope that man finds it real hard to umpire...

We have to be professional on the field if I'm forced to work with him I will and on the field no one would know the difference...

But off the field, where it really counts, where bonds and friendships are made for life that man is not invited.

Like that'll happen.

D-1 umpiring was improved drastically under Yeast's time. Umpiring conditions and support also improved. He did what he was hired to do. We owe him plenty.

He will be welcome on any college field.

Any former MiLB umpires who wish to succeed on the college field would be well advised to leave their minor league issues on the minor league field.

UMP25 Thu Feb 21, 2008 06:54pm

I personally would have no problem working with Dave on the field, and I agree with others here who have mentioned what he did for umpires. Dave helped improve not only D-I umpiring but D-II and D-III as well. In short, he brought NCAA baseball umpiring into the 21st century in more ways than one.

Notice that I filled my name in the blank. Big deal. I can make the same generic statement about almost every umpire in the game. Name one who was worthless, and you don't owe a penny more.

No fair, you peaked at his resume.

Are you teasing them? Any minor league umpire who wishes any success on any field better leave those minor league issues off the field.

{Warning: SAtire} :p

Dear SAump:

If you are going to change my statement so significantly as to replace the person I was speaking about with the name of someone else, please have the integrity to remove my name from the quote. You have posted an out and out lie when it begins with "Originally posted by Anonymous 67." I posted no such thing.

I see that you are comfortable with being a liar. That's worthwhile information to know.

SAump Fri Feb 22, 2008 08:12pm

Any Suggestions?

Were your comments suppose to cause me some grief?
What did you expect? "Liar, liar pants on fire." :p
