LOVE that Aquafina commercial during the NY -Cleveland game! Pinella and the umpire. Classic! Thumbs up! Cheers! I'm saving that one! Hope they show it again through the playoffs -

I actually had the same thing happen to me several years ago with a coach I knew really well that had to leave early for something. It wasn't preplanned but, pretty much went along the same line.

I get about one of these a year, usually with college coaches. I have a hard time not smiling while they are "arguing" my great call. :)

He was starting a 5 second count. ;)

It was the unejection mechanic.

He must have learned that from Canadadump!

...and, and, and when you get the ball across the goal line, BOOM, then you have what is called a "touchdown."

The only commentator more Captain Obvious than Madden is Tony Gwynn.

Here is a similar story from one of my colleagues. JC game:

A buddy of mine is BU....two schools that are hot rivals....Game is at School A, coach of School B is known to be very animated and emotional, big crowd on hand.

Late in the game, A is winning easily, B coach is getting increasingly frustrated, team A is at bat with bases loaded and a 2-2 count on the batter.

Pitch is thrown, batter checks the swing, pitch is ruled a ball. PU asks BU for help on the check swing, BU rules no swing.

Coach B requests time, comes out of dugout to talk to BU:

BU: Do you have a question, coach?

Coach: Not really...boy,my team really sucks today!

BU: OK......

Coach: I just don't know what is wrong with 'em.

BU: Ya, coach....it looks like they are struggling today.

The whole time this conversation is going on, the team A crowd is screaming at the coach to "get off the field", "sit down", "quit whining", etc.

Coach returns to dugout, game resumes. The count on the batter is now 3-2, pitch is delivered, batter smacks it over the fence for a grand slam.

Coach B steps out of the dugout and yells at the BU:

"Those four runs are on you!!!"

the only comentor BIGGER than mrMadden is mr Gywnn....hes like morbid levels now....i hope he doesnt fallvictim to what happened to mr Puckett!

Yeah, Tony shot way past me on the fat meter. I look positively slim next to him.

The comercial is funny, but i gotta say that it wore off after the 500th showing--enuf already!
