Any idea what's up with any of these guys? Any info on ETA's for returns to the field for any of them?

SanDiegoSteve Mon Jul 23, 2007 12:40am

Well, Tim McClelland, Marty Foster, and Paul Schrieber are currently working the Sox/Sox series, as Tim McClelland threw out Francona the other night. He was the 3rd base ump, Schrieber was U2 and got shoved by McClelland when he butted in. Foster was working the plate, and Culbreth was at first base. See thread about "The HR that wasn't."

goyanksgonj Mon Jul 23, 2007 04:39am

That's only four out of the giant list. Any other info anyone has to pass along?

RPatrino Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:35am

Why does anyone care about this stuff in the first place?

kylejt Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:58am

Umpire groupies.

RPatrino Mon Jul 23, 2007 12:26pm

Personally, I'd rather be out working a game then worrying whether Joe Schmoe is on vacation or not....just me though.

UmpJM Mon Jul 23, 2007 12:31pm

goyanksgonj,

FYI. I'll be taking some vacation from 7/30 - 8/03.

JM

rei Mon Jul 23, 2007 03:41pm

I won't be working a game Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (yet!)

Do you need my next weeks schedule? ;)

When you go, don't forget your gear and uni's. You never know you might be able to pick up a game or two.

Tim C Mon Jul 23, 2007 04:36pm

Myoh My

I also believe that Tim Donaghy is on vacation this week.

And next week . . .

And the next week . . .

Etc.

Regards,

RPatrino Mon Jul 23, 2007 04:50pm

The dreaded 'permanent' vacation?

JugglingReferee Mon Jul 23, 2007 05:18pm

The only thing to see is what kind of permanent vacation Tim Donaghy gets. Will his slippers be made of concrete? :D

briancurtin Tue Jul 24, 2007 12:01am

i'm not working any games this week, put me on the list

No, that was an entire crew out of the giant list. Jeez, you sure want a lot for nothing! I had to dig and do research just for those. I really thought you would be more grateful! :(

Rich Tue Jul 24, 2007 02:58am

I'm working every day through Sunday, so I'm not available.

Of course, I'm in the Netherlands, so I probably couldn't get back before next Tuesday for a game.

Ah, Tee, I SO love your wit and sarcasm! :)

I realize that it was a crew. I'm just surprised that you all appear to be taking this as a WOBW. It's not as if I'm trying to meet the President of the United States. Gee whiz, people.

RPatrino Thu Jul 26, 2007 12:58pm

I don't know what a WOBW is. I do know that most of us don't care where the MLB guys are, whether vacation or what. Sometimes I look at the box scores to see who worked what games. I don't get the high level of interest some have with this trivial stuff.

bob jenkins Thu Jul 26, 2007 01:23pm

WOBW= Waste Of BandWidth.

And, imo, this thread is a prime example.

UMP25 Thu Jul 26, 2007 02:41pm

I concur wholeheartedly. Besides, why must someone know this information? Do we have an obsessive MLB Umpire stalker in our midst?

It appears we might be seeing Mike DiMuro and/or Bill Hohn back soon. They've been assigned to the last couple of crews working home games for the Iowa Cubs (AAA). I guess it's almost like a MLB rehab assignment. Has this ever happened before? It's pretty cool, either way, I think. I wonder if they wear PCL/IL or their regular MLB uniforms when they rehab?

Yours is not the only opinion of this sort, Bob.

I'm still trying to figure out what "UPDATED" means.

Try that it means I've just made the list current as of the date listed.

UMP25 Mon Aug 20, 2007 05:22pm

OK, thanks! You have NO idea how we were waiting for this. The anticipation was just killing us.

RPatrino Mon Aug 20, 2007 05:37pm

DOB: 5/15/88. Not legally permitted to gamble, and absolutely no reason to do so illegally.

I've got hemorrhoids older than you. And they don't care what MLB umpire is on vacation either.

Just saying......:D

Shouldn't you be out chasing girls or something? You have far too much spare time on your hands.

To stay on topic, just a note that I am now working football so it may appear that I am on vacation from baseball.

It's only primarily by Internet and/or phone right now because of the fact that she lives in St. Louis, and, about a year ago, I had to move with my family to Vegas. I lived in St. Louis for two years to finish high school, in case you're curious how we met, and all that crap.

If you'll verify for me via PM that you're not a hacker of any kind, or an identity thief, I'll be glad to give it to you, and you only, for the purposes of responding to your question.

Did you see the movie Serenity? Check out the character called "Mr. Universe." 'Nuff said.
