Current DL/Vacation MLB Umpire Statuses?
Note: Sorry it's been so long since this has been updated. I've been on vacation from Wednesday August 8, 2007-Saturday, August 18, 2007.
UPDATED Sunday, August 19, 2007 Jerry Crawford Brian O'Nora Ed Montague Fieldin Culbreth Bill Miller Larry Young Bill Hohn Gary Cederstrom Jerry Meals Jeff Nelson Bill Welke Eric Cooper Bob Davidson Lance Barksdale Jeff Kellogg (assigned to another crew) Derryl Cousins (assigned to another crew) Mike DiMuro (assigned to another crew) Mike Everitt (assigned to another crew) Chuck Meriwether (Crew Vacation) Charlie Reliford (Crew Vacation) Rick Reed (Crew Vacation) Larry Vanover (Crew Vacation) Greg Gibson (Crew Vacation) Tony Randazzo (Crew Vacation) Alfonso Marquez (Crew Vacation) Tim Timmons (Crew Vacation) Any idea what's up with any of these guys? Any info on ETA's for returns to the field for any of them? |
Well, Tim McClelland, Marty Foster, and Paul Schrieber are currently working the Sox/Sox series, as Tim McClelland threw out Francona the other night. He was the 3rd base ump, Schrieber was U2 and got shoved by McClelland when he butted in. Foster was working the plate, and Culbreth was at first base. See thread about "The HR that wasn't."
|
That's only four out of the giant list. Any other info anyone has to pass along?
|
Why does anyone care about this stuff in the first place?
|
Umpire groupies.
|
Personally, I'd rather be out working a game then worrying whether Joe Schmoe is on vacation or not....just me though.
|
goyanksgonj,
FYI. I'll be taking some vacation from 7/30 - 8/03. JM |
I won't be working a game Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (yet!)
Do you need my next weeks schedule? ;) |

Myoh My
I also believe that Tim Donaghy is on vacation this week.
And next week . . . And the next week . . . Etc. Regards, |
The dreaded 'permanent' vacation?
|
The only thing to see is what kind of permanent vacation Tim Donaghy gets. Will his slippers be made of concrete? :D
|
i'm not working any games this week, put me on the list

I'm working every day through Sunday, so I'm not available.
Of course, I'm in the Netherlands, so I probably couldn't get back before next Tuesday for a game. |

I don't know what a WOBW is. I do know that most of us don't care where the MLB guys are, whether vacation or what. Sometimes I look at the box scores to see who worked what games. I don't get the high level of interest some have with this trivial stuff.
|
WOBW= Waste Of BandWidth.
And, imo, this thread is a prime example. |
I concur wholeheartedly. Besides, why must someone know this information? Do we have an obsessive MLB Umpire stalker in our midst?

OK, thanks! You have NO idea how we were waiting for this. The anticipation was just killing us.
|
Goyanksgonj, you got any money riding on which ump works which games? You might be better off bird doggin the NBA guys.

To stay on topic, just a note that I am now working football so it may appear that I am on vacation from baseball. |
