Hehehe,

Great ones NEVER lose the touch!

And left handed, wow "Chip" . . . great job.

It is really me. I did not move but I have been coming to the Cape for the last three years to spend a week umpiring the best baseball outside of pro ball that one can do. It is a lot better than any of the D1 ball that I do. Tomorrow is my last game here at 5pm at Bourne. I am on the plate.

Regarding my knee, it is much better. I swtill owe Carl an article on that.:D

It kinda looked like you, but it's been 7-8 years since I saw you and I've never seen you with a hat on.

I laughed at the photo. As a left hander, I do exactly one thing left handed on a baseball field. Eject.

Congrats on the paper for (1) getting your first name wrong and (2) spelling your last name wrong. But, it's a good picture.

Hey Peter,

Can you post a list of who else is up there this season? I have a lot of associates that work the Cape League from time to time.

By the way, is the manager of the Dennis-Yarmouth Red Sox still a P.I.T.A.?

This thread is getting too sad. It is causing this snowbird too have entirely too many memories of wasting away too many days of my youth on the Cape. Went to a lot of Orleans games growing up...even one all-star game there back in the early '90's (long before I had any formal umpire training).

BTW, how is the league's support of the umpires these days?

It didn't get it wrong. Peter has long been called "Chip" for his uncanny resemblence to "My Three Sons" actor, Stanly Livingston.

Stalin would have had the manager shot.

Unfortunately, other than the umpires that I worked with, I do not have a list of the umpires that work there. You could contact the assignor, Nick Zibelli. Go to www.cbuao.com for more info.

No problem, Peter - I was just trying to avoid having to bother Nick after all these years!
