LL Ump Dan fashion comes to MLB?

Any idea why the umpires were sporting the blue wristbands tonight? I caught them during the Yankee/Met highlights on Sportscenter and became.......fearful.

It is Father's day.

Blue for prostate cancer. Just like you saw Pink on Mother's day for Breast Cancer.

Where have you been lo these many years? Freeze dried? Lunar orbit, perhaps?

Freeze Dried brain fart. I'm immensely tired after working 12 straight days. I'll go sit in my corner now.

As Rut indicated in post #3, Father's Day is the day which the ML umpires chose to highlight awareness of Prostate Cancer.

I didn't see any sky-blue bats, though. Were there any?

I didn't see any, but there were some games where the bases were light blue.

Tim.

Players, coaches and umpires were also wearing ribbons on their uniforms and shirts.

I apologize for the brain fart on such an important issue.

But truthfully, didn't everyone think of LL Dan when you saw the wristbands? I knew what they were for, but I still got a mental image of Dan in his black wristbands.;)

No, not at all. In fact, I had successfully put LLDan completely out of my mind until this thread. Thanks a lot.

Ribbons? Why does this remind me of the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer refuses to wear the AIDS ribbon? :p
