Status of the BRD

I along with most find the BRD as a valuable resource whether you umpire multiple leagues with various rule sets or simply one rule-set.

I realize there will probably not be a 2007 version.

Papa C do you plan on writing a 2008 Version? or will the 2006 version be sold on E-Bay as the last BRD published by Papa C.

Thanks

Pete Booth

We assume that because it's usually published in January.

Guys,

I have sent e-mails to Both Carl C. and Jimmie Flores at RightSports asking the question, "will there be a 2007 BRD?"

Haven't yet received an answer from either one way or the other.

I've been completely ignored each time I've asked, too. Wonderful customer service, if you ask me.

It will affect my membership since I use the annual credit on purchasing the latest BRD. The articles are not worth $50 to me.

It's why I let my membership lapse. No new BRD, no Rich being a member. Period.

Ditto here on the no BRD, no renewal!

I got an e-mail recently from Jimmy Flores reminding of the lapse of my membership. My son, a college senior, is now a fed certified umpire and I was going to sign him up too and get us both a 2007 BRD. He has been looking at mine when he comes home. I won't let him borrow it as I use it several times a week to refresh my knowledge, especially in the summer when I am calling different levels and rules of youth ball. So, Jimmy and Carl, when are you going to update and let us know so we can renew memberships? Enquiring minds want to know.

BigUmp56 Sun Jun 17, 2007 02:25pm

Both have failed to respond to my e-mails as well. I also sent an e-mail to Brad and got no reply. Perhaps Bob or Mick could get the low down for us.

Tim.

Tim.

It's doubtful. I was a moderator here until Carl and I had one of our semi-annual tiffs and he whined to Brad and Jimmie who had me removed to placate their ediitor-in-chief. I had no special access to management as a moderator.

me too

Count me in as one of those paying members who did not renew without the BRD. I hope someone is listening......

Jim Porter Tue Jun 19, 2007 01:24am

I certainly hope he's not seriously ill. But I am worried about him. I hope someone out there has been in contact with him recently and will at least post to let us know he is okay -- even if it's just to say, "I know Carl is okay."

I haven't heard from him in months and I certainly don't wish ill will towards anyone.

mbyron Tue Jun 19, 2007 06:20am

I had a brief e-mail exchange with Carl on May 19 of this year, exactly one month ago.

I have the J/R but for me, the BRD is the best. I like the size, format and style.

My hope is that this is just some business publishing issue that will be cleared up for 2008. My BRD gets pretty ragged in one year much less than making it 2 years...

Because Roder's is not as good.
