Has anyone here tried the "Personal Pitcher"?
 

Hey guys I've been playing baseball for 8 years now and have always dreamed of having a pitching machine in my back yard. I searched the web for a portable one that doesn't have to throw regular balls and doesn't need a whole batting cage set up. I found one product that I am thinking about getting as it is only about $160, mounts on any camera tripod, uses golf size whiffle balls (harder to hit), and i could just set it up inside a dining tent thing we have. It has everything I am looking for but i just want to make sure its not a ripoff.

Whatever you do, do <b>NOT</b> purchase this product. If you are lucky enough to actually receive one of these after you pay for it, you will find that they're shoddily made, fall apart easily and and won't last. And when they do inevitably break, the company will not take any responsibility at all for repairs or replacement. They're rip-off artists.

Aamof, avoid buying anything from this particular company. Everything that the sell is just cheap knock-offs and their service is terrible. Avoid them like the plague.

Yikes...I'm guessing you have personally bought one? And do you have any suggestions for another personal pitching machine that i could use in my backyard with some what limited space for a reasonable price? Thanks.

seeing that this a web site for sports officials, mehinks that you would probably get better feedback from a coaching/team site. I doubt that most umpires really care about what pitching machine is best.

Do <b>not</b> buy a Personal Pitcher though, whatever you do.

if you can settle for a side tossup machine, i still have a QuicHands tossup machine in my basement from http://www.quichands.com. its very solid and has worked very well for me. when i still played, it was a great way to hit a few buckets of balls every day in the winter and stay fresh...and its $219 for the tossup machine and an 8'x8' net

Haha, actually i went to register for some board a while ago and trid t_mac (taken) then tried kingjames (taken), so i put them together and voila. now i use it for most things a resister for.

I've been looking around again and have stumbled across another inexpensive machine. Its called the mound monster and someone on another site said that it works surprisingly very vell.
