Perhaps no one from Houston has read the post. Or, maybe the umpires from Houston need someone from Dallas to read it to them.:D

Ooooh, that's cruel, Garth. My brother and his family live down there (The Woodlands), you know. ;)

Here let me see if I can get the Mighty Texans going.

I am in Connecticut with the Greater New Haven Board of Umpires. It's a High School Board. I am also a member of The Orange, CT Umpire's Association.

See partners, that is all this guy wants!

Hey John, I already gave you information about the Houston area on the other forum. I gave you SBUA.com, Chazmo.com an BASEBALL USA. We have alot of baseball here in Houston and once your name gets around you will have more than enough games to umpire. Now about our TASO chapter, we are always in need of umpires, we are one of the largest chapters in Texas. We cover alot of territory, not just Houston. So get on line and and join our chapter. We are always welcoming quality umpires.

I imagine, mando, that an NCAA umpire would be interested in college ball. It does sound like the chapters to which you refer are the mid to lower levels. Is this correct?

UMP25, what made you think the original poster is a NCAA umpire?

No, we have alot of levels of baseball here. LL, select , high school, Kyle Chapman, Connie Mack, Carl Young, JUCO, and above. Our Chapters help and promote umpires to the next level if they desire. We have alot of classes here in Houston taught by pro umpires, D-1 umpires etc. So, we can help him out if he wants our help.:)

Nothing necessarily. I was just curious. It's not like I'm planning on moving anytime soon. I just happen to have a brother and his family who live in The Woodlands, Texas, about 25 minutes northwest of Houston, and if I get any more fed up with Chicago weather, I just might make that move. :p

Well its too late to get into with TASO since there almost done with their season so that will have to wait until the next season, I guess what I should of said was I work with various Associations just trying to find something a bit closer to work as oppose to driving 15-20 miles in heavy traffic. There are only so many days I can leave early to run an "errand".

Well JFlores, Houston is pretty big and everthing around here, you are going to fight traffic. Since TASO is almost over, there is alot of baseball starting up for the summer leagues. If you prefer the southside of Houston, try TBUA and talk to Gary Rackley, northside, talk to Charlie Strasser. We do alot of weekend tournaments and if you are available, you can get games. Now depending on your level of baseball you can call LL, Triple play and North Houston BB. Now on Carl young , Houston Heat BB and Connie Mack you have to be selected and qualified to does those games. If you need anymore info. PM me. :)
