Has anyone ever heard of an umpire being charged for attacking a coach?

At a men's play-off final this past season, I had to break up a fight when my UIC charged a man and right-crossed him in the jaw. This guy was a player, but he was not on either of the teams involved. He sat behind home plate and harassed my UIC the whole game. I guess my UIC just snapped. There was a lot of history involved. I won't get into all that.

It was an unfortunate incident. However, I can hardly feel badly about it since I was named UIC for next season. *grin*

I wish I could say that I had never spoken harsh words to a fan.
But, sad to say, over the course of the years it has happened a couple of times.
I did however manage to say my piece in a non-threatening way.
Oddly enough, one of those persons whom I lambasted after a game turned into a great proponent.
