Honigs Pro Elite Chest Protector

I've used this chest protector for several years now. I like it very much, it's lightweight but still protects wellat the college and HS levels. Thinking about getting the one with the Ventmesh instead of the Y strap. Any opinions about the ventmesh?
Thanks in advance.

Is the one you have broken? Why would you consider putting up the money for a new CP just to get ventmesh?

It's not broken but it is getting a bit rank after hundreds of games. Just want to know if anyone has the ventmesh and if they like it.

I don't see that much of a difference. If you wear McDavid, UA, or whatever, it should take care of the cooling part.

I am in my second year of wearing a Vent Mesh version, after 7 years of the Y-Strap version.

I think the Vent Mesh is a great improvement, and I would not want to change back to a strap type of CP.
  • Much easier to put on.
  • Gives you a nice snug fit, holding the CP in the EXACT same spot the entire game.
  • No having to re-adjust the straps from slippage, or body size changes.
  • Breaths well enough that you don't get any hotter.
  • You can still throw it in the washer.

I hose mine down every so often and use Febreeze in between. But it's not a K1. I don't know if K1 could take a hosing.

People have raved about a product called Zorbx. It claims to remove all smells. Ive never tried it though, it is quite expensive.

Lysol also works great.
