Ultimate ball bag review

I've never really thought about ball bags. I've used a pair of black, +POS bags forever. But I've been buying gear off of eBay for our local Junior umpire program, and got a deal on a pair of the Ump Attire Ultimate bags.

Granted they don't looks as sharp at others. It's the elastic top that makes them look sorta like those vinyl Rawlings beginners bags. But they work like a dream, and they're built like a tank. My hand goes in smoothly, and because of the shape, the balls don't move around when you're getting down the line. The inside zippered pocket is perfect for keys and wallet. Once you have them on the belt, the elastic top doesn't really look bad at all.

Sorry Junior umpires, but I'm keeping these and donating the +POS bags.

Ump Attire's Ultimate Ball Bag

I personally know the "inventor" of this piece of umpire accessory. She put her heart and soul into the development and marketing of this item. She has sold the Ump Attire sales rights/name and now focuses solely on manufacturing the bags and a few other sewing related matters. Some umpires really like the bags and some do not. I have a set of the navy. They faded very badly after one season. They are so thick and heavy that I had to use the dryer to get them fully dry after a washing because I did not want them to mildew. I will try another brand of bag this season to see which I like better. If not, I will bite the bullet and buy two sets of each color of the Ump Attire bag and let them air dry to save on the fading. Otherwise, they are great, especially the zipper pocket in the back.
