Chest Protector Measurements

How do you measure what size you need for a CP? I've seen things that say from collar bone to naval (I'm a 19). However, lots of sites I've seen only go up to 16. Am I doing something wrong? I'm 6'2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You want to be sure to cover the Xiphoid Process.

Put a T shirt on and measure from the top of the T shirt to below the XP. I'm 5'10" and use a 13". You might want one a little larger, but try it on to be sure it covers XP. Belly button is way too far South for a CP.

I use a 13". You don't need coverage all the way to yer belly because

a. When you are in your stance, your body leans forward and covers that area well;

b. The end of a long CP would hang up in your belt area when you did that;

c. Most folks' guts are padded enough already ;)
