Stealing on a foul tip

I know you can steal on a foul tip, but if it's the 3rd strike when the foul tip accours, does the runner have to "tag up" since the ball was caught and the out was affected?

Coach has the answer - just FYI look up the definitions of foul tip and also a batted ball, fly ball etc., just for better information.

Thanks
David

David, I do know what a foul tip is and that you can steal on a foul tip, I just wasn't sure if on the 3rd strike if you could still steal, since the ball was caught and the out was affected. Thanks for the clairification.

I didn't mean to suggest that you don't know the rules, simply that under the definitions of foul tip, batted ball etc., this information is covered.

Its nice to hear it, (in this situation read it) but I always like to have a point of reference just to look it up for further study.

I didn't mean for my post to be a slam on your rule skills etc.,

Thanks
David

A foul tip is like any other swinging strike. If the batter had missed the ball entirely, would a runner have to "tag up"?

David, again thanks for the help, and I didn't take any offense to anything you said. I understood the point your were making.
