Mark Carlson

Watching Carlson working the plate in Red Sox - Royals game.

Seems to be using a ba$tardized version of the GD "system". Yes, No, Comments ?

Also, uncaught third strike mechanic is left hand pointing at ball. Anyone on our august forum using this mechanic.

Thank you.

Hmmm everytime I've seen him I thought he was using GD -- maybe I'm wrong. He was on Gerry's crew last year and worked in front of Gerry. Everytime I saw back-to-back games I thought they looked the same.

He dangled his hands down in front of him and as the pitcher releases he puts his hands on his needs.

Seems to eliminate that immediate lock-in that is the hallmark of the stance.

Maybe I need to watch him again. Everytime I've seen him he's been locked in.

He was as close to Gerry's stance as there was. But last Friday I was watching the Sox game and you are right, he is using a variation of the stance. He was getting locked in early and as the pitcher was delivering, he would unlock if I can use that expression. I didn't think it was him until the announcer said his name.

BTW, I use that uncaught third strike mechanic.

Thank you, gentlemen.

My mistake Carbide. I'll have to try and check him out again and see what you're talking about. BTW, Mark is #48.

Anyone know where John, Mark, CB, and Wally are this week? Thanks in advance.

CB would be on the dashboard of your pick-up truck!

IMO CB should be somewhere in AA ball with A. Marquez, A. Hernandez, and B. Froemming as the crew chief!

PWL

That is exactly why I watch sporting events, to watch the officials working and see if I can pick-up something that I like and that I can work into my game and make me better.
