My bunt mechanic is the same as a check swing if I call it a strike.

"YES"....point the strike.

I have to say that Ray Faustich, who is the senior HS guy around here (and a nationally acclaimed rules guy), taught many of us basic mechanics.

His wont is to verbalize every ball and strike call.

I could easily live with not verbalizing the obvious swinging strike. However, unless a medical miracle occurs, I won't be doing the plate ever again.

I must admit, though, I don't care for the school that says nada on a called ball.

Again, as DH stated, point with left arm, and " Yes he did " then use your swing strke mechanic.
