Come on Blue, that pitch was at my eyes !
Had one of those batters that ducks down and watches the pitch into the catcher's glove.
I ring this guy (adult) up on a high strike, right down the middle. He ducks down really low (not his normal swing stance) as the pitch comes in, so it crosses his eyes. He makes a complaint as he is walking back to the losing dugout. Catcher says to me, "If he stood up and batted like a man, he'd see he should have swung at that." Could help but laugh. :D |

My common response to a batter complaining a pitch is too high after he crouchs down on the borderline high pitch...
"If you duck, I've got to guess where the top of the zone is. And I'm not a real good guesser." They generally stop the crouching act. |

Coach: "Blue, I've been in this game for 30 years, everyone knows that you have to pull the bat back on a bunt, or its a strike."
"That's not your pitch , Johnny, good take" |
Had a kid that everytime it was a good pitch, right down the middle, would bend down...and he knew it was A strike too. :D

I had one this weekend, pitch comes in and cuts through the zone at the top of the front knee, catcher gloves it cleanly, fingers up, just below his knees. "STRIKKEEEE, I yell".....
Coach at 3rd, " Don't worry Johnny, not your pitch....good take".... Next pitch, exact same spot, Johnny ropes a gap double, drives in 2 runs...." I say..."Nice hit Johnny, not your pitch though"....HAHAHAHA, Coach smiles... |
