You seemed to have missed the fact that pdx and yourself are kindred spirits. He make it abudantly clear that he accepted and worked MiLB games as a replacement. Who's the dummy now?

Tim.

Naw, I got no excuse. I just have this funny little idea that officials in all sports, no matter what the level worked, should possess and show at least a modicum of professionalism.

You obviously don't have that trait. You posted with the sole purpose of stirring up sh!t. That's the very definition of a "troll".

Sad.

pdxblue Tue Jul 11, 2006 03:03pm

Actually, I am just checking up on how the postal service is doing.

Thread after thread from the supposed professional umpires while they were on strike concerning the misfortunes of the scabs while we worked. I didn't see you calling THEM trolls.

Get over yourself. It IS a "funny little idea". I am a damn good umpire, and if you ever worked with me at ANY level, you would want to work with me again. I put my efforts into being professional on the field, where I should be, and worry far less about what some jerkface on a BBS thinks of my "professionalism". The day you realize the internet is ENTERTAINMENT, the more fun you will have with it!

You might be the greatest umpire in the world, but I still wouldn't care to work with you. I'd be afraid to turn my back.

You don't have a clue what "professionalism" is about, trollboy. It sureasheck isn't ever about posting with the sole purpose of opening up old wounds with your fellow umpires.

I'll stick to my forst impression of you. You have a great deal of maturing to do.

SCUMP Tue Jul 11, 2006 03:22pm

Forst???? Hmmm Did You Go To School In South Carolina Too Jerassic Park???

Naw, got nothing to do with where you come from. You're just a low-rent pdxblue. Two of a kind. Don't have to be a genius to figure that out.

You keep doing what you do best too, trollboy jr. Keep stirring the crap up.

Again, sad.

The AARP isn't too bad of a league to work. It's sort of comical watching them hobble around the bases, and every once in a while there's a Grand MILF that shows up.

Tim.

I always find it amazing that after you talk a bunch of crap about me, stirring up more crap, that you can't see past the end of your nose to realize it takes a troll to know a troll.

Your responses make you just as much of a troll as anybody.

Grow up man. Also, admit you actually ENJOY the banter. I mean, why else would you post what you do in response if not just to stir up more crap? ;)

Good day troll.

Tim - If you haven't copyrighted "Grand MILF" do so immediately! I have never heard that before and it is GREAT!!! (although probably not so much before I turned 51, but ya know...)

GarthB Tue Jul 11, 2006 08:50pm

Lost in the all the sophomoric postings is this:

MiLB management, paying attention to the lessons of the recent labor dispute, is cultivating a relationship with the amateur replacements. They are two steps ahead of the AMLU with six years to go.

Somebody needs to whack the AMLU leadership upside the head to get their attention. Most likely there WILL be another labor dispute. If they wait six years to prepare, it will be a repeat of the last one.

LakeErieUmp Tue Jul 11, 2006 08:58pm

Garth - Please tell me you're kidding! Remember the grief MLB had a while ago with Jack Morris and MLB teams "conspiring" to keep his free agent price down? It will be a thousand times worse if baseball is actively seeking a relationship with amateur umpires while they have a CBA with the union. This is way too close to a NLRB grievance problem baseball very likely would not win.

SCUMP Tue Jul 11, 2006 09:03pm

yea you should copy right that crafty piece of ........what?????

SCUMP Tue Jul 11, 2006 09:05pm

a thousand times.......hmmmmm

No, I am not kidding. I don't mean any "formal" relationship. This is nothing like the MLB issue. Rather, MiLB is and most likely will continue to maintain "friendly" relations with amateur umpires. They will communicate loosely and infrequently to say "thanks" several times over the next few years. They will not throw the amateurs under the bus and will not do anything to antagonize them. They will make no promises and will ask for any commitments until it is needed and appropriate. Nothing illegal here, just smart business.

On the other hand, the AMLU continues to bad mouth the replacements and maintain a site listing their names, locations and, in many cases, derogatory comments. When AMLU supporter particpate in "coversations" about or with the replacements, the tone is negative and condescending.

Assuming both sides continue their recent tack, who do you think can count on support from the amateurs the next time around? Hmmmmm?

Believe it or not, I am not anti-minor league umpire. I am not pro-management I am just a realistic, educated, former union member who is totally aghast at how amateurish the AMLU is anf how ignorant they appear to be of the lessons they should have learned.

ncump7 Tue Jul 11, 2006 09:54pm

Hey guys..
Maybe if we just let them pat each other on the back they will eventually go away!!

BlueLawyer Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:01pm

Infinite

I hope for a lot of reasons that when this collective bargaining agreement between PBUC and AMLU expires, they can negotiate before a labor stoppage.

Chief among those reasons is so I don't have to read the endless, immature, insecure prattling from the "we were just as good" crowd.

Pdx and SC are so defensive they started flaming each other before they even knew they were both replacements. That speaks volumes to the mentality, or lack of it.

It is classless for AMLU to post the names, pictures and addresses of "scabs". You can't control what they do; you can, on the other hand control what you do.

For the tenth time- get over it.

Strikes and outs!

You begin by spelling it correctly: copyright

Then, I steal it from MS Word by opening a new Word document and keying CTRL-ALT-C. You can also find it by slecting the "Insert" tab on the menu bar and then selecting "symblo". A box will open and you choose "Special Characters".

Either way, once you have it in your word document, copy and paste to wherever.

Since you are being ignored, I don't know what you wrote, but I'm sure it was really well thought out and witty.
