One off the coconut.

Braves win! Sorry cubbies.

SanDiegoSteve Sun May 28, 2006 06:17pm

Bruce, when I first read the title of the thread, I thought you were writing about our friend SA!!!:D

NFump Sun May 28, 2006 06:24pm

couldn't resist

Yeah, that did cross my mind too. Cubbies 3rd sacker has an easy infield pop up carom off his grape  allowing the BRAVES' runner to advance to 2nd. Sacrificed over to third, strike out, base hit by Giles to score him. BRAVES win 13 to 12 in the 11th to sweep the hapless cubs in their house. :D No, Bartman wasn't at the game.

Bruce:

Why is it I get this distinct feeling you directed your post at me? You, big redneck, you!;)

Tim.

Tim, did you see the end of the game? It was like deja vu or something. You just knew the cubbies would screw up and give the game back to the BRAVES.

briancurtin Sun May 28, 2006 10:39pm

un****ingbelievable, the cubs just cannot win. i cant take this.

NFump Sun May 28, 2006 10:41pm

Sorry bro, not really trying to get a jab in on anyone (cept'n Timmie). Hey, bottom of the 9th I'm feeling like you do now.

You know what gets me, Brian. It's not so much that we're losing as usual, it's the fact that there are so many closet Cubbies placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of Derek Lee because of the injury. We have had to fill two huge holes in the rotation and people seem to be forgetting that. Maddox got out of the gates at 5-0 and has now fallen to 5-4 in 10 games. Zambrano hasn't faired much better at 3-2, and Rusch is stinking up the ball park at 1-5. We have 6 players in the starting lineup batting over .300 and we still can't get our $hit together. Oh, well, we can say the same thing we have for years now.

There's always next year.

yep. theres always next year.

ive begun to hate the people who call into the various radio shows and just have the most off the wall ideas and comments about this whole thing, and dont know a damn thing about baseball -- let alone cubs baseball. its frustrating, but they are still my cubs.

Nope, I'm blaming the owners (spend the f-ing money) and those lovable MRI twins (suck it up and pitch).

Hmmmmmmmmmm ........................

Didn't the Cubs have a guy named Garciaparra ? The guy now leading the league in hitting.

Must be Bartman's fault !

A note to all Cub fans,

The sooner you morons figure out that the Trib won't spend any more money as long as you people keep showing up for the games the better off you'll be. "Yeah, but the atmosphere is so great." That team has hardly depth to it at all.

Last year ESPN did an episode on how the L.A. Clippers owner operates in the black every year because he's a tight wad. I wonder how much cash the Tribune rakes in on all the Wrigley faithful who keep relying on "next year"? I have one more question. Why did the Giants let their manager go right after losing the series to the Angels?

You Cub fans CONSTANTLY make fun of the South Siders and their lack of support. Well, guess what that got us???????

Here's your chance to buy a clue.
