Unfortunately, it happens all the time. I'm glad the press actually covered it; shining light on abuse of officials has got to be a good thing.

Strikes and outs!

Connecticut has attempted to pass legislation to make it a felony to strike baseball umpires. The measure passed the House but got stuck in the Senate :(

In Oregon, that kid would be at least $500 richer, and could be up to $1000 richer. That is just the fine the court imposes on the guilty to pay the abused sports official. Who knows what he could get in civil court! :D
