Gerry Davis Pants?

Who knows anything about the color of Garry Davis pants?

The website makes comments like:
They’re a dark gray, made to look good no matter what pants your partner is wearing.

and

Dark gray color looks great next to any partner & helps prevent sun-fading
100% polyester: wash cold, hang dry, never needs dry cleaning!
Permanent press fabric travels well & eliminates most ironing

$48.90 (slightly more than other vendors, but not much)

The photo (on my computer) looks almost like a dark sage color (a bit of grayish-green). This might look funny next to the pinkish sun faded pants most of my partners wore this year.

Does anyone have comments about the color or quality?

these are just darker grey, like what is being worn in MLB right now.

The quality is great, lots of features, the photos on the website do not represent the actual color of the pants. I don't know who took the pictures, but they sure screwed them up.

They are the same color as the Honigs Poly-Wool pants.

I have both - VERY close in color. For warm waether I prefer the new GD's.

socal,
are the GDs not a 'poly-wool' type of pant? i dont know much about materials, but i was told that the honigs are a thicker, more heavyweight blend. are the GDs a similar material, or even the same material, as the standard umpire pants?

I believe they are polyester, same at the Honig's B1/B2 pants.

So which is better? I've got the GD ones, as do some of my comrades, but others have the Honig's poly wool ones. The latter DO seem a bit heavier and thicker, and this much is fact: they're much more expensive!

I've got the GDs plate pants and with the humid weather in this area, they are airy and much lighter the Honigs counterpart. What I really like is that the GDs don't get caught in the top of the shin guard (I use scissors) and with a heavier pant, each time I came up I had to do a snatch and pull to get the leg back down. These kind fo just slink back down. Never have ironed them and amamzingly they don't hold crushed red brick or field dirt. The color is much better than the heather grey which fades something awful as my Honigs combos will attest to...2 more weeks and I'm going for the base pants. The comfort waistband and rubber grip let me get rid of the old flex belt which really doesn't flex anymore as much as it does bind. Great pants! Thanks Gerry (and Scott)
