Site Acronyms
I have now been reading this site for the best part of the last month and a half we'll say. I have yet to really get a hold of the acronyms used. I understand the positional acronyms but I am unable to follow other ones. I hope that everyone can kind of put their two cents in and help a forum noob at understanding the language used on the site. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanx Again Panama City Brian |
would you mind posting a list of ones you dont understand? most people dont even realize they are using acronyms because of how frequent we use them, so asking people to post what acronyms they are using might not be the best way to get the info.

Wow that is probably asking alot I was kinda hoping for the easy way!! ;) but I guess here are a few :
FED - OBR - Official Baseball Rules AMLU - PBUC - NFHS - GD - In regards to Stance? Some of those I know what they are but not the exact meaning. Also I think this would be a good post to constantly update so noobs like myself know what is going on when they come and can keep up with the conversation. |
FED/NFHS - national federation of state high school associations. aka high school rules or sometimes federation rules. most people just say "fed", pronounced like "i am fed up"
OBR - you got it right. aka major league rules AMLU - association of minor league umpires - MiLB umpires union PBUC - professional baseball umpire corp - pronounced "p-buck" to most GD - gerry davis, used when talking about the gerry davis system |

FED - Short for the above PBUC - Professional Baseball Umpires Corporation AMLU - Association of Minor League Umpires GD - Stance "developed" by MLB umpire Gerry Davis |
