I didn't work any ball this weekend, first off since Feb 1, but what is going on in your games? Kind of tired of reading about this other junk.
|
No ball here until Mid May.
|
In my games, change-ups are rising, pigs are flying, and we play on a scrap of earth that is only 8000 years old.
;) Games start here in a couple of weeks. |
If . . .
. . . the rain holds off I'll talk in about six hours. Our NFHS season starts today.
I'll be watching for rising fast balls all day. |
Take the mask cam Tim we want pictures!

Whats going on
Twelve games into the season first week was nice last weekend was cold and winds to 50 mph.
Most have been noneventful did have one game where 2 batters had 3HR games...over in 5 innings Some of the problem children coaches have changed schools but not their style. Kids hand was broken on a pitch during a game as the batter was trying to avoid a pitch inside. I saw the hand hit first and the batter do the dance of pain, the coach argued a fair ball and 'that its impossible for a ball to go fair after hitting a batter'. ?!?! Glad to be on the field |
im waiting for a status report from lance cokalinski

games......
The only games I saw this past week were my sons D3 games in Florida, which was excellent....beautiful weather, good baseball and excellent umpiring....then I got on a plane and flew home....75 and sunny in Fort Pierce.....off the plane in Pittsburgh rainy and 39.....
Attended a clinic on this saturday, got all charged up and ready to go....er, ready to wait........at least 2 more weeks....... Gear is clean and ready, shoes are shined, unis are clean and pressed and all I need is a game..... I'm so ready to go that I'd call St. Cyril's School for the Blind versus the Sisters of Mercy.......in a JV doubleheader....... Stan [Edited by piaa_ump on Mar 13th, 2006 at 05:21 PM] |
I've worked 21 games so far this season.
Saturday, one starter went seven, and K'd 12, giving up 4 hits. At least half his K's were looking. Pitching is out-pacing hitting at this point. |

1st game of year
Last Wed. 3/8
First D1 game (non-conference). Swampy with a low snow pile in RF corner foul terr. Anything that entered the snow would have been dead (no balls went in). Nine innings, I had bases. Took me a while to get my bearings. Timing was good but after my second double play I ran out to RF with 2 outs. Caught my mistake before the next pitch. Had a no-stop balk with R1 & R3 against the home team and my first crap of the year 1.5 innings later when I did not "even up" when the home coach felt the vis. F1 balked when he sped up his delivery (he did stop). Home team won 10-4 but it felt more competitive than that. My partner had a good zone too. Official game time 2:20. Ran my arse off and, as a result, was nice and sore the next two days. Had a DH cancelled on 3/11. Next one is 3/22. D |
