any thoughts? any other recommendations for base shoes?

I just bought a pair of the '05 New Balance 250's (link below). I have never felt a more comfortable shoe. I like the "high shine" idea...

I just got my New Balance 350L (low cut) base shoe and they look real nice out of the box. Honigs is already shipping them so get your order in soon before they go on back order.

I should be getting mine today. I'll report my satisfaction or dissatisfaction when I see them.

compare prices?

honigs, 62.95 low, 67.95 mid, no plate shoe

POSupplies, 56.00 low, 59.00 mid, plate 89.00!

Wrong. Go to the Honig's website, they are offering the NB Plate Shoe.

I've worn my NB 250's now for 2 seasons and will be wearing them again this season. They are extremely comfortable and easy to keep clean.

My association this year has said "no white on base shoes", so I will see how they react to my little white "N". Also, they said no patent leather ( I can't imagine why), but I WILL NOT be giving up my GD plate shoes any time soon.

My mistake, Honigs plate shoes 99.95

And that was not +pos, it was purchase officials supplies plate shoes, 89.95

looks like Honigs are a little higher but the customer service is by far the best.

I should add that the N accent is not exactly white - I would say its a silverish/grey color. Same as the minor accents on the soles of the shoe (back and arch).

Hmmm,

Even yrs trly that is soooo against patent leather can't believe that an association would make a rules AGAINST wearing them. That is pretty funny.

So a guy in your place (and Alabama) should wear GD patent leather plate shoes, a patent leather belt, a HSM and the new leather ball bag and watch your "powers-that-be" turn purple.

Great stuff.

I don't care one way or the other, but what is the negative people have about patent leather? And why would an association outlaw patent leather accessories? It is not for me, but if others like it ... there are much bigger things to worry about.

Your little N is black sharpie marker bound.

Let the "leather guys" be. After all the leather ball bag and shoes will be a perfect match for their leather saddle bags on the Harley they ride to the game! LOL!

This thread finally got me to register to post.

I moved to PA from NY, where white logos on plate shoes were allowed. PIAA insists that white logos on any shoes are flatly prohibited. (Of course, this is the same state that makes soccer officials wear vertical black-and-white stripes on the field.)

I was planning to buy new plate shoes anyhow, but the whole "no white at ALL" restriction severely restricts my options. Has anyone here tried blacking out that N on these shoes, and if so, does it actually stay blacked out when you clean off the shoes? New Balance makes decent enough sneakers, and if these are comfortable, I think I might take the plunge--but apparently I have to come up with a way to keep that logo obscured.
