I saw a 15 year old F1 shatter one of these last week. Catcher was protected, but damn...$200.00 and it doesn't make it through the fall season...at sub-HS level.

I know the F2 and he had saved up for it. Bought it in August. Figured it would serve him through H.S.

I'm sold. I'll keep my steel WV mask.

I've been wearing an Easton Stealth for 2 years and so far have experience no problems at all. I've taken several shot to the cage with no ill effects. The only problem I've encountered is removing scuffs from the top of the helmet.

Where did his helmet shatter? Just curious.......

It shattered right above the cage area. The design brings the shell down over most of the forehead and the cage starts just above the eyelashes. He took a direct shot from a tipped pitch. He didn't feel anything. He took the next pitch, and said "Hey Blue, look at this". He picked up what appeared to be glass in front of him. There was a baseball sized hole in the front of the helmet.

If it happened right above the cage, there is a small flat spot right there and all brands seem to be weak there. Any shot to the flat spot that I have seen has resulted in breakage no matter what model they are wearing.
