That's a good story, and I'd agree with the results.

Most people have come to know, (and replay after replay now on TV show it) that most of the time even on close calls, the umpires are correct.

No doubt, they do one hell of a job.

Although most people probably think 45-minutes prior to each game they choose 4 guys from the local bar to come call the game.

They do an excellent job and get almost all the calls correct. If they would only aspire to get as CLOSE to 100% correct as possible and leave some of the old age EGO out of the equation. This post season has seen way too many bad calls, some of the mechanics and theories of when to huddle should be under review.
