i almost always throw back to the pitcher. two reasons:
1) saves time....i dont' want to wait till the catcher can find a passed ball 2)allows me to control the game these are not necessarily great reasons, but after doing HS and college intramurals, i have found that being in control of your game is one of the most important parts of officiating. |

How does throwing the ball back to the pitcher help you control the game? |

Your choice is to either: 1) Hand the ball to the catcher 2) Throw it to the pitcher Now how does the flow of the game change if you go with 1 or 2? |
