So I'm watching SportsCenter and they were showing the highlights of WAS/ATL game two from tonight. Frank Robinson did not like a call at 3rd base, and began discussing the call with Wolf who was on the plate in between the inning--Robinson was standing on the dugout steps and Wolf was behind the plate with his mask off; the two began staring at each other. SportsCenter then showed a split screen and a clock in the corner of the screen at which the two stared at each other for 44.5 seconds, when Wolf finally turned away and mumbled "unbelieveable."

We've all stared down our share of coaches, but for 44.5 seconds? Wow.

the background music they play while showing the split screen is perfect

I can't believe SC showed *anything* for 44 seconds. Their directors must have been crying for a faster cut...

Am I the only one who's getting sick of Frank's antics? He is ALWAYS on the top step whining about everything- I didn't see Earl Weaver, but he was probably just about this bad.

Steve does NOT take a minute and a half to pitch....sure you could make a 12-course meal in his starts but he's gotten better over the past couple of years.

A. key phrase "used to"
B. yes, he did take a minute and a half between pitches sometimes. no, he did not take a minute and a half between every pitch. yes, he has gotten better.

i wonder where he parked his car after the game and where he gets his personal dry cleaning done. sadly, someone on this site probably wants a serious answer to that.

also, off topic, but i wonder if anyone else on this site has ever played a game with one of the umpires being from this site. randy (UMP25), i was a catcher in the naperville colt league a while back.

Small world, Brian, but you'll have to remind my aging mind on exactly who you were. I try to forget former rats...uh, players. :D

BTW, what brings you to this board of otherwise esteemed individuals?

No. That's not true. No one had to say that. It's interesting that you chose to. Very interesting.

Hey, just trying to be more in tune with the '90's, you know (even if it IS the 2000's). How can you be so intolerant? :D
