MLB Rules.

Is my understanding that a dropped third strike is a force out? If so the following must be correct.........

Play 1:
Two Outs. Runner on First. Dropped third stike. The runner on first is forced to second. The catcher can throw to second for a force out.

Play 2:
Two Outs. Bases loaded. Dropped third strike. The cather can tag home for the third out.

A dropped third strike would not be a forceout with first base occupied and less than two outs.
