Has anyone tried the equipment?? How are the shin guards that don't have a strap behind the knee and how is the Davis-Wilson Chest Protector??

Jason,

I don't use it. I use the Honig's gear. However I have heard nothing but good things about their equipment.

I have used them several times and gotten very good service.

I bought their shin guards last year. The design sounded really good and surprise, I have loved them.

Only two straps, comfortable, and protect well without having the extra pad at the top.

Thanks
David

Can't express an opinion on the vest but bought the GD shin guards this year. I've done 10 games so far and I love 'em. They are light and comfortable and I don't miss the strap behind my knee. I recommend them.

Jason,

I've used the GD shin guards since late last season. They are great and as others have mentioned they are light and you don't have the strap grinding into your knee. I've seen the protector many times. It's a good protector for softball and baseball up to the JV-maybe varsity level. If you are thinking about anything higher up, I would select a hard shell.

I'll email you with more info.

I have used these shin guards for two years and wouldn't trade them. The two straps work great, the connection using a tab and slot is better than hooks, and the protection on the ankles is superior. I love them.

Purchased a Gerry Davis Featherweight Mask and used it yesterday for the first time. The name says it all I recommend it. Also have the Gerry Davis patent leather plate shoes. Although high tops they are very light I recommend them as well. I use the Wilson Platinum Protector. I have taken some nasty hits and have never felt a thing.

I have never wore this mask, but I have seen one and picked it up, and at least to me, it didn't seem to be anything different from a standard Honig's or +POS single bar mask. I'm not saying it is a bad mask, but I don't think it is anything special.

One of my partners has one. It's not as light as my Plus POS "Zero Gravity".

Garth, does the Zero Gravity POS mask have the same low profile as the Gerry Davis/Wilson new view mask?

No. Thankfully.

Okay, Garth, since I was contemplating buying one of the "new view" masks, I gotta ask, why the "No. Thankfully?"

Just a personal opinion. I don't like the looks of it. Obviously, others do.

Hey,

Can you wear a seven stitch plate hat with the new Davis view mask?

I believe it does. The +POS website says the mask has "squared-off vision bars."
