Any "glasses" comments I have ever heard were from fans, not game participants, and I have not even heard them from fans for several years. I've worn glasses nearly all my life, and only went to contacts for the 5 weeks I was at umpire school because glasses "weren't acceptable" back then for a "professional" umpire. Now, of course, they are acceptable, and are not the fodder for the barkers that they were 20 years ago. Of course, perhaps I don't hear the comments anymore because A)I don't miss that many calls anymore, or B)My hearing is going as well as my eyesight. ;)
