NFHS, NCAA, and Pro: Ambidexterous pitcher and switch hitter. How often may the batter switch (as in between pitches), and the same for the pitcher? Thanks!

NHFS, prior to facing the batter the pitcher must decide which hand he will pitch with, from there the batter can assume a position in either batter's box and play continues. Interesting to note though, nothing prohibits a batter from changing sides during the at bat, only the pitcher is prohibited from changing which hand to pitch with during the AB.

I assume that NCAA and and MLB have similar rules, but as always, correct me if wrong.

NCAA -- Same rule: 9-2k
OB -- Pitcher and batter may each change one time per at-bat NAPBL 6.14

How does the pitcher get a glove for the other hand if he switches? If he goes to the dugout to switch gloves would that constitute a mound visit?

We have a guy here who's ambitexterous and he had Mizuno make him a specialized glove. But I would say that he could change gloves (quickly) without delay of the game if he changes after an out or something like that.

Of course he'd have to run over and have someone toss it to him, but I wouldn't charge a visit unless the coach comes to the mound to give it to him.
