Batting order: Abel, Baker, Charlie.
Abel is due up, but Baker bats. Baker grounds out so defense doesn't appeal. Abel bats next and singles. Defense now appeals BOOT. Abel's out & Charlie's up next? |
Charlie is OUT. Daniel is up next.

6.07 The batter that was supposed to bat, is out. Once Abel received a pitch, Charlie became the legal batter and is therefore out. Poor Charlie. [Edited by jicecone on Aug 2nd, 2004 at 12:03 PM] |

What if they've already been through the order once in the Baker, Abel lineup? Doesn't this re-establish the lineup in this order and as long as they bat in this manner the rest of the game, there's no penalty?
