I would like some info on what hopefully will be a less controversial subject than some that appear here. I am simply looking for an equipment upgrade, a better wallet to keep my pencil, lineup sheets and notes in, than what I have been using. Something that will not tear up in one season's usage, maybe made of leather instead of plastic (maybe too much to hope for). Any suggestions?

I also would like to get a wallet made out of leather. I don't know who makes one. I just tried the GD site, and it is hacked or something. I have a +POS one and it is plastic, and it rips after a few months, so I would advise you not to get theirs.

It seems like a small thing to ask, but I ain't buying another plastic one. I will get something at WalMart if I have to (not a bad idea come to think of it).

I need one, too. I suspect that a high-quality, stiff billfold from a fine leather store is the answer. However, the price will probably be stiff, too.

I will gladly pay the same price I pay for a wallet to keep my driver's license, credit cards, and money in. I typically get 10 years out of a leather wallet used every day, and then I replace it because I forgot and left in my pants and it got all washed up in the washing machine. An umpire leather wallet should last forever..

Wow that looks like a nice one. I might get it.

My +POS wallet came with these eraseable cards. I don't know what they are made out of, but it is something hard, and the pencil comes right off it. Does anyone know where I can buy some of those. Anyone seen them at Walmart or something?

Use the back of one of the line-up pages for any "notes" you need -- you can ditch the plastic cards.

Fold up the line-up cards, and they're stiff enough to write on -- you can ditch the wallet.

Put the items in your shirt pocket or one of the smaller pockets in your ballbag.

Total cost: $0.00

I use the two small pockets in my ball bag for lineups and write notes on the back of the cards. As for a hard surface to write on the back of my counter or brush works fine for me. But doing many games in poor weather I would like something that could keep the lineup cards dry.

Pick pocket...

Dick Tracy anyone...

Check out your local police supply store. They carry leather notepads and holders that fit in yur shirt pocket. I have a black leather one that was in pretty good shape, once upon a time. It gets sweaty and salty stained, so the plastic is better for that. But, it's durable and cost around $20. Bring a game card or two with you for size.

I don't like carrying my game wallet and line up cards in my front shirt pocket. I run a lot and they fly out. I prefer to keep the line up cards inside the fold and put in in my right back pocket. I can get it when needed and if a ball hits me in the chest, I don't have to sorry about a broken bullet pencil or worse.

Most of us make a good buck on the game...buy the best gear you can and keep it in good shape. You'll find that it will last as long as you need with a little care.
