McGriff's has a new look.

Gary has new software in place that looks slightly familiar.
Still no passwords or monitors but that can't be far off.

Wow, it's 100 times easier to read. Except you have to get an account to post now. And to get one you have to email the moderator. Here is the link, it is sort of hard to find.

LDUB,

You do not need a password to post. I am sure that is coming, but right now you do not have to.

Peace

My fault, I did not read the whole thing. You don't need a account to post. It just gives you access to a few other features.

Having a user account on this discussion board gives the following benefits:

* Ability to specify your full name and e-mail address to be included on your post
* Ability to enable e-mail notification of all posts to topics you select
* Ability to change your own password

That's about all that's changed, the look. New style, same lack of substance.

There is some substance there.

The problem is, you have to wade through all that rediculousness to find it.

I find it amazing that working, family men have so much time to spend posting thousands of words of insult so often. Maybe they should focus that time and effort to more positive things in their lives.

I personnally have nothing against RUT (as many do), but I do wish I had as much spare time on my hands to post novels they way he does. And he does it on multiple boards ! Yikes !

jicecone Thu Jun 17, 2004 07:13pm

Ok Brad, or should I say Mr Censor.

I make a comment about another forum and you remove it.
Yet comments about Rut remain.

Is your last name Mcgriff or do you own stock in his sight?

Your joking , RIGHT.

Brad Fri Jun 18, 2004 09:18am

jicecone, I really have no idea what you are talking about.

brian43 Fri Jun 18, 2004 09:45am

my post was removed as well, in reference to jicecone's post being a zing against that forum.

I do not know what he is talking about either. What comment of mine stayed and what was deleted?

I think some people have too much time on their hands to think about things. ;)

Peace

Remember that it is not always me -- we have several moderators on this board. The moderators normally are passive -- only getting involved when they have to.

We don't like to delete posts from the board -- that defeats the purpose of having it. However, we like even less the diatribes and attacks that some people post.

Post about officiating and you will be fine. Post attacks on other officials and your post will most likely be removed.

I think that our sensible, balanced approach is what has allowed us to become the #1 discussion board for officials -- recently surpassing 5000 members!

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or comments about this board or Officiating.com -- we are always looking for ways to improve!

Brad, I have no problem whatsoever with this even though my statement was ONLY about another forum type site.

Also, if I wrongly blamed you ,I apologize however, if someone is going to take on this responsibilty of moderator, they should have at least have the savy and professionalism about theirself to tell the subscriber for what reason their post is being removed. Otherwise we just have abuse of one's power!!!

Brad Fri Jun 18, 2004 10:41am

If anyone has any problems with their post being deleted they can email me directly. I would suggest saving copies of your posts since after they are gone, they cannot be retreived. Simply saying "My post was deleted for no reason" doesn't really help me at all :)

We have had only a couple of incidents where posts were deleted that should not have been and they were addressed. I believe that our moderators currently know exactly what is expected of them.

Personally, I only remove posts that are attacking or those promoting a certain publication from Wisconsin :)

brian43 Fri Jun 18, 2004 10:47am

i never said there was a problem or anything, just that my post was deleted. i dont care, close/delete whatever you want. im not too worried about my posts and my post count on an officiating message board.

Rut ,

No comment of yours was removed, I was talking about the comment about "all the time you have on your hands" remained, and my comment about not caring wether a different site was working or not, being removed.

Too trivial to pursue any further.
