I have a pair of base shoes with a white logo on them. I am looking to change the logo to black. You guys have any special ways of changing some white leather black?

Never thought of doing this, but black dye should do it, if it's leather.

A little white is good. You just don't want to have too much white that detracts from the look. All black = softball.

See if a bit of laquer thinner takes the white off the logo.

Then, treat as the rest of the shoe.

I would keep the white very clean using a good shoe cleaner and clear polish. Keeping a bit of white on the shoe very clean adds to your appearence.

Plate Shoes

While a little white on the bases can add to the appearance of base shoes, what about a little white on plate shoes? I've been torn as to whether I should mess with the white +POS logo on my plate shoes for fear that it doesn't look right to have white on plate shoes. Is it okay?

I like a wee bit of white on my shoes too, but it makes 'em a pain in the *** to polish. I wear +Pos plate shoes and never even considered keeping the lettering white. As for my base shoes (I wear Puma Diamond Strategist) - I bought the all black model and using the white stuff (BRITE WHITE)from the company that makes "SHAPE UP" http://shoe-stuff.com/main.htm., I painted the stripe on. The stuff looks great and is certainly lasting.

Use a black "Sharpie" pen to black out the white, then polish as usual. Worked great on my +POS plate shoes.

A little paint thinner (or maybe it was laquer thinner?)takes the white right off. Takes about 30 sconds for the pair.

Then, polish (or shape up, or leather luster) as normal.

When I was a teenager, my mom cut the "Levis tag" off the back right pocket of my jeans. She did not know the tag was special. After that I only purchased JC Penney plain pocket jeans at less cost because other than the tag the jeans were the same. Why cut the tag off your shoes?

For my +Pos plate shoes, it is just too damn much work trying to keep the shoes black and the lettering white. Following the path of least resistance really. The logo is too small to work around, so I polish right over it. My base shoes are much easier, since the Puma stripe is large.
So, I 'cut the tag' off +Pos, but not Puma.
Oops, Canada is facing off against Finland at the World Hockey Championships... gotta go!
