"I" deleted the two threads that I had started.

It is simply my choice to eliminate them.

Tee: A post I would expect to see would go something like this:

"So, just because veteran umpires who throw their proschool experience around exercise their own choice doen't mean we all have to, you know."

Tim C.

Regarding your post about the 10 things not to do. I know you received some flak, but I don't think there is anything wrong with that type of post. When I read it, there were a few items that I did not agree with, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be posted. Sometimes, a list like this can generate discussion that gets us thinking about why we should or should not do something. Someone comes in with a differing opinion, again it makes us reflect on different aspects of our job.

With Respect,

Jim:

I disagree in the strongest of terms.

What I post is my intellectual property.

If I select to delete a thread (for what ever reason) it should always be my right.

You have no idea "why" I deleted the thread . . . it was a personal choice and I should be able to retain that right when my property is the basis for the additional posts.

Sorry, I simply disagree with you.

Tee

Jim:

One might think that the original poster should only be able to delete his posts and allow the others to remain. Some think that it is only a software problem that prevents this. I hope not.

If deleting the original post only removed the initial post, the poster's literary work could still be in the thread embedded in numerous responses whenever other posters chose the "quote" option.
