I understand what you are saying by "It is what it is." I have been there before, and it is never fun to try to correct something that has been shakey for sometime, but we can only do our best and lead by example.

I agree with you. I thought the association that I use to belong to was a model set up as well, but that fall I learned it was not as good as what I thought it was.

Many things lead to me leaving. It was not just one or two in particular. It was a combination of many things. However, I have found 4 other associations that are just as good, if not better then the one that I left when we last talked to each other face to face, so I am happy and content with my decision that I made.

Mick, I wanted to put this out there to you for thought for next season. I am normally in the U.P. at least two times a year for college games during the basketball season. If I can swing it, I am more then willing to come up to an association meeting a night before a U.P. college game, and do a training session for your association sometime.

John,
This is, probably, better left to private e-mailing.
Thanks.

John,
We had a Minor break through U.P. here.
Adam Bergman (Bergy - forum name) went to JEA.
154 umps, Bergy rated 26th. He just turned 22.
Bergy is headed to Cocoa Beach, FL, for a college tourney and then to the Texas Collegiate league this summer.
We're proud of him.

Not to denigrate Mr. Bergman's accomplishments, but that's not even the best performance from the upper peninsula this year.

Nick Nolde from Escanaba finished #1 at Harry's.

Thanks Jim,
We heard Nick was high, but didn't know where. Nor do we know what next steps have been offered.
YU.P.! There are a coupla good umps (that used to be) U.P. here.

I haven't heard where he's going either, but there are still a lot of spots open in the Short A and Rookie leagues (at least based on what is put out for public consumption.)

Thanks, Jim,
An "Attaboy" to Nick.

Jim are you U.P. here?
