Are there any states which require HS coaches to pass the FED rules test?

Does anyone know why they don't have to???

I don't know of anywhere where the test is required for coaches, but I don't know much. I would assume that they do not need to pass the test because they are not the ones who actually have to apply the rules.

In Washington State, I believe that if a coach fails to attend the rules clinic, he must take and pass the FED test in order to coach at the varsity level.

There's probably a shortage?

I'm glad our state doesn't make them pass a test, we'd have a shortage of coaches.

Most of ours attend the clinics but they usually only cover the new rules and the POE.

Thanks

Most of the coaches I have seen at the rules clinics are nodding off half way through the clinic.

In ND they have to take a test, but there is no score requirement or anything. If they don't take it, then the school has to pay a $50 fine.
