Overhanging Trees

I'm doing more men's league and less scholastic ball now, and the men's league fields are not so nice.

Are fly balls hitting overhanging trees (overhanging into the field of play in both fair and foul territory) covered strictly by ground rules?

Can fly balls still be caught even if it "nicks" a leaf or two and falls straight down, unaffected?

Do we use our best judgment when determining if it's a home run or not?

IMO, "play the bounce". If the tree can get you some free outs, use it:cool: Every hitter will literally be swinging for the trees!

This is one thing I always make sure the home coach covers in the grounds rules. There's no reason to leave the plate meeting with either coach surprised by a future ruling.
