Life is easier for assigners when people communicate, then do what they're supposed to do.

I'm an assigner for baseball playoffs in our part of the state. This year, for the first time, all payments are being made through ArbiterPay. That requires each umpire to accept his assignments through Arbiter.

Prior to the start of the playoffs, I sent a detailed, step-by-step "how-to" to each of the associations that provide the pool of umpires. For last week's first round, 18% of the umpires had failed to do so by the day before their series started.
