Bat boy
In OHSAA game. umpire says bat boy is not allowed out of the dugout to get the bat. It is not a NFHS rule as far as I can see. Why have them on the tournament list and require them to wear a NOCSAE approved helmet?

IF that's the whole story, then dude got it wrong....it happens, life will go on.

It's possible that the state doesn't allow a bat boy. Probably because of the World Series incident with the SF Giants.

Per NFHS rules they may have bat boys, they just need a NOCSAE helmet that fits them. No idea what the state rules are. |
there is no additional restriction in Ohio on bat boys....we're either getting only part of the story or a simple case of a dude getting something wrong, but it's not widespread by any means. Bat boys are as common as table salt.

OHSAA allows anyone to act as a ball shager or batboy. The only stipulation is that they comply with NFHS 1-5-1.
