One man Position
 

If you are doing a one-man umpire game (Jr Varsity), would you pad-up and do the 1-man system behind the plate, or would you do behind the mound at this level since a lot more goes on?

Just asking as i have a game today where they have only found 1 umpire so far, so just seeing what position you more seasoned umpires would choose.

Gear up and work from behind the plate. Everything is in front of you.
90% of a game is balls and strikes. Be where the action is.

I prefer behind the plate as well, as stated everything in front of you.

Fair foul on the lines are much easier!

You start from behind the plate. You don't spend much time there once the ball is put into play, though.
