I don't have my books with me, hoping someone can answer one for me.

Catcher comes up and the DHC calls time and asks to put him on. I let him know and he bends over to take off his leg guard. As he is doing this, the OC is already sending out a CR. I allowed the CR to just go to 1st. Seemed weird to everyone, including me, but I figured the purpose of the rule was to speed up the game. They were in the 3rd base dugout, and I admit, if not he would have ran to 1st

Now, I'm just wondering if I shouldn't do that again.

By rule, he needs to touch first before the CR can come in.

As a game management techniques -- well, you need to read the game.

Wow, that was fast. Usually the speed up rule is one of the slowest things that takes place on the field.:D
