Batter Switches

In FED ball, when can a batter legally switch from right to left (or vice versa) while at bat? Rule citation or case book, please?

There's no (practical) difference in any of the codes.

7-3-3 A batter shall not ... disconcert the pitcher by stepping from the box on one side of home plate to the box on the other side while the pitcher is in position ready to pitch.
